Spring is here! Summer is just around the corner and with all this warm weather, cravings for sweet treats are inevitable! I have a quick recipe idea for you to try to help curve that craving but is healthy at the same time!
SO, WHAT ARE WE MAKING? ICE-CREAM!
This simple ice-cream recipe will help ward off those amazing sweet tooth cravings but is healthy and SUPER EASY! Once you have your ingredients ready put them in a food processor and you’re set!
WHAT YOU NEED:
1-2 frozen bananas (ripe bananas work best and should be cut into “coins”)
1-2 table spoons of peanut butter
OPTIONAL: 1 tablespoon honey, 1-2 tablespoons cocoa powder, 1 scoop protein powder.. I could go on but there are any number of add ins for this recipe including other fruits!
Food Processor or blender.
WHAT TO DO:
Put the banana in the blender or food processor and start blending. At first the banana will seem chunky and you’ll have to scrape the sides but as soon as it gets creamy put your add-ins and peanut butter into the mix for a little longer! The consistency will be similar to soft serve. You can also store your banana-cream in an air-tight container & refreeze if you want a harder consistency!
I did not create this recipe on my own but I’ve seen several variations circulating the internet over the past few weeks. One example of the recipe can be found on seriouseats.com . I hope you guys enjoy!
Another SMASH TIP for you is to work out while you lay out! This spring you may take an afternoon to soak up some sun and lay out in your back yard. But why not make that a productive tanning session? I typically get very bored just laying in the sun so I decided to start doing small workouts. Why not? I was already getting sweaty, why not make it worth it? I loved it and working out while laying out is now part of my normal routine!
SO, WHAT TO DO? Keep it simple at first. Try doing some core strengthening workouts like planks and crunches. It’s best to do this on the ground and not on a lounger for form and balancing reasons… I may or may not have found out the hard way that it’s not a good idea to do certain exercises while laying on a lounger. OUCH! Anyway, once you get comfortable with these try adding things like Side-planks, leg lifts, Supermans, and any of your other favorite exercises!
I hope you guys have a wonderful weekend!
